Peter Norman Silver SalutePeter Norman finished in between the black American sprinters Tommy Smith and John Carlos in the final of the 200 metres at Mexico City in 1968. Not only did he set the Australian Record (20.0, still stands in 2014), he earned himself a niche forever in one of the most controversial moments in Olympic history.
Basil DickinsonAustralia's oldest surviving Olympian Basil Dickinson spoke of his experience at the 1936 'Hitler' Games in Berlin and how the Team took 41 days to travel from NSW. Dickinson was interviewed when he attended the Kapyla Club (Helsinki 1952 Games) reunion in 2009. Dickinson who competed in triple jump in 1936 passed away on 7 October 2013 aged 98.
