Straight From the HearthOslo 1952: The Olympic Flame is brought out from the hearth of the old cottage of Sondre Norheim in Morgedal, Telemark, from where it was carried by a relay of top Norwegian skiers to the Bislett Stadium in Oslo. Born in 1825, Norheim is known as the pioneer of modern skiing.
