'Brundage Team' DramaSt. Moritz 1948: The USA ice hockey team sanctioned by the US Olympic Committee. They were one of two ice hockey teams sent by the US to the 1948 Winter Olympics due to a disagreement between the American Olympic Committee and the Swiss Olympic Committee. This team, nicknamed the Brundage Team after US Olympic Committee president Avery Brundage, marched in the Opening Ceremonies but did not compete in the games. The Swiss allowed the team sanctioned by the American Hockey Association to compete, but after the International Olympic Committee threatened to disqualify the entire event, the AHA team was removed from the final standings.
