Three Boxing GoldsMelbourne 1956: Laszlo Papp of Hungary shares the distinction in Olympic records with Teofilo Stevenson of Cuba of winning three boxing gold medals. He was the middleweight champion in 1948 and the light middle winner in the 1952 and 1956, boxing with southpaw stance. While the Hungarian authorities did not permit professional boxing, Papp was allowed to follow a professional career for three years during which time he became a European champion.
