The Winner Is SochiInternational Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge announces that the city of Sochi had won the right to host the 2014 Winter Olympic Games, during the 119th International Olympic Committee session on July 4, 2007 in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Sochi defeated runner-up Pyeongchang in final voting after Salzburg was knocked out of the race earlier in the day.

Henshaw Flips for Slopestyle InclusionAustralian Slopestyle Freestyle Ski Competitor Russ Henshaw can now add Olympic Gold to his list of goals with Ski and Snowboard Slopestyle being included to the list of sports for the next Winter Olympic Games. At only 21, Henshaw is currently ranked as world number 2.

Anna Segal Looking To SochiAustralian Slopestyle Freestyle Ski Competitor Anna Segal can now look forward to Sochi 2014 following the inclusion of Ski and Snowboard Slopestyle to the list of sports for the next winter Olympic Games. Segal, from Mt Buller in Victoria, won the gold medal in slopestyle ski at the 2011 World Titles in Utah back in February

Slopestyle To Be Included In SochiThe IOC approved the inclusion of Ski And Snowboard Slopestyle for Sochi 2014. Slopestyle riders do complicated tricks while going down the mountain and negotiating rails, jumps and bumps. Each course can have up to six features and some jumps have athletes soaring 20 metres in the air. Both events are very much part of the IOC’s drive to connect with the youth audience.
