Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find my favourite Olympic moment?

Type the keyword/s into the Search on the top right of the page if you know of a specific athlete or event you are after. Alternatively select the All Media button on the top navigation and tour through each major category.

Content is grouped in collections such as Golden Nuggets, Vancouver 2010, Olympic education. A collection can contain video, audio, photos and documents.

What if I there is no result for my search?

If your Search is unsuccessful you can try different search keywords or as the AOC Media Centre is in its preliminary stages the Australian key Olympic Moment you seek may not yet be available.

Please use Contact Us to let us know what you were looking for and we can prioritise bringing this to you.

The AOC is working with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to be able to display historical footage of key Australian Olympic moments such as Cathy Freeman’s win at Sydney 2000 and Herb Elliot’s 1500m gold from Rome 1960 so we hope to bring these to you shortly.

How do I share content with my friends or embed in my own website?

Some AOC generated content or content where © Copyright has been attributed to the AOC can be shared and embedded using functionality of the page for that media item. The content can be shared in multiple ways such as via email or by publishing to Facebook or MySpace. To embed the content or the link to the content in another site simply copy and past from the Embed feature.

Why is not all content able to be shared or embedded?

If the AOC does not own the copyright or have permission to distribute the Share or Embed option will not be activated for these particular items. In some cases editorial decisions will be made by the AOC to not allow for the distribution of AOC generated content.

How do I contribute content to the AOC Media Centre?

If you have a video, audio file or image that you believe makes up part of Australia’s rich Olympic history then we would be very grateful if you could use the Contact Us page to let us know. We are not in a position to pay for content and would need to discuss copyright and publishing details.
